Join us for an informative Food Preservation Workshop on August 22! Led by OSU Extension’s Family & Consumer Sciences Educator, Melissa J. Rupp, this workshop will cover all aspects of home canning, including:
- Water bath and pressure canning methods
- Hands-on pressure canning experience
Whether you're a beginner, have some experience, or are a seasoned canner, there's something for everyone! Build your confidence and prepare for your garden harvest and fall preserving.

This class will delve into the science, tools, timing, and each step of the canning process. As Melissa J. Rupp states, "We emphasize the science behind preservation. We want everyone who cans or freezes fresh fruits and vegetables to understand why certain procedures must be followed precisely to ensure a high-quality, safe product that they and their family can enjoy."
Note: Minimum of 4 and maximum of 9 participants required. This class is for ages 14 and older.
