Discover a captivating collection housed on the third floor of the stunning Art Nouveau building at 8 Tuska Street! This exhibition showcases art inspired by the rich folk culture from Malopolska, Podhale, and Hutsul regions, which were once parts of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Krakow, the heart of national artistic life during this period, takes center stage, highlighted by the influential School of Fine Arts. This school produced notable artists who drew from Romanticism and incorporated elements of Impressionism and Symbolism, capturing the essence of local life and breathtaking landscapes.

Among the gems on display is Stanisław Wyspiański's renowned Madonna of the Countryside, a stunning polychrome painting originally crafted for the Franciscan church. The exhibition also features works by esteemed artists like:

• Włodzimierz Tetmajer – known for his portrayals of rural neighbors in Bronowice.
• Teodor Axentowicz – a frequent Parisian salon visitor, he illustrated the lives of Carpathian mountaineers.
• Władysław Jarocki, Fryderyk Pautsch, and Kazimierz Sichulski – representing the Huculs and their vibrant traditions.

Additionally, discover the talents of lesser-known artists such as Alfons Karpiński, Ludwik Stasiak, and Wincenty Wodzinowski. This exhibition even includes a touching tribute to the Mazovian style with a captivating piece by Franciszek Szwoch, adding further depth to the collection.

Sculptures by Konstanty Laszczka and Marian Dudek, along with beautifully crafted furniture by Wojciech Brzegi and unique ceramic breakfast sets designed by Jan Szczepkowski, enhance the visual tapestry of the exhibition. Not to be forgotten are the original Hutsul handicrafts that have been a part of the museum's collection since before World War II, now proudly displayed for the first time.
