This summer, Girls Gone Hiking is partnering with OurSpot to offer beginner-friendly backpacking weekends. If you've been curious about backpacking but felt overwhelmed by gear and logistics, this is your chance to learn new outdoor skills, meet an amazing community of women, and enjoy a night under the stars.

What to Expect:

• Learn the fundamentals of backpacking
• Carry a properly fitted backpack
• Set up camp with experienced guides
• Cook and share meals together
• Sleep under the stars in Harriman State Park
• Build confidence for future adventures

Your Ticket Includes:

• Round-trip carpool transportation from Jersey City/NYC
• Backpacking and camping gear rental through OurSpot
• Saturday lunch & dinner, Sunday brunch
• Two experienced backpacking guides

Is This Trip Right for You?

This trip is designed for beginner backpackers. Participants should be:

• Comfortable carrying a backpack weighing up to 35 lbs for about 1 mile on uneven trails.
• Ready to camp without running water, showers, or electricity.

No prior experience is needed, but a positive attitude and a sense of adventure will enhance your experience! 💚

Why We Created This Series:

At Girls Gone Hiking, we believe the outdoors should be welcoming and accessible to every woman. This series aims to remove barriers to backpacking, providing a supportive, women-only environment.

• July 25–26
• August 8–9
• August 15–16

Pricing:

🎟️ $225 per person

Your ticket supports professional women outdoor guides and helps make outdoor leadership more diverse. Space is limited to 6 participants per trip for a personalized experience.

Cancellation & Refund Policy:

• 7+ days before your trip: 75% refund.
• Less than 7 days before your trip: No refunds.

If Girls Gone Hiking cancels due to unsafe weather, participants can transfer to another weekend or receive a full refund.

Additional Information:

• You can meet the group at the Harriman State Park trailhead if you prefer your own transportation, but the trip price remains $225.
• A light packing list will be provided one week before the trip.
• Note: This trip is not dog-friendly.
