Born in the mid-1970s from the creative spark of brothers Johnnie and Keith Wilder, Heatwave became a landmark group in the evolution of funk, disco, and soul. With songwriter Rod Temperton, whose later work includes Michael Jackson’s Thriller and Rock With You, their studio craft and musicianship set a new benchmark for the genre.
