Hike Amay – Esneux (28 km) - max 20 pers

Join us for a scenic hike through the beautiful rolling landscapes of the Condroz region! 🌳 Starting in Amay, located on the banks of the River Meuse, we will ascend to the eastern Condroz plateau and primarily follow the GR 576 long-distance trail, which is also a Camino route leading to Santiago de Compostela.

Along the way, we will explore forests, rolling farmland, hidden valleys, and charming Walloon villages, all while enjoying stunning views across the gentle hills before descending into the Ourthe Valley.

After our hike, we’ll continue our tradition of enjoying a refreshing beer, ice cream, or snack at a local pub in Esneux before heading back to Brussels. 🍻

We will walk at an average speed of 5 km/h, traversing both paved and unpaved roads. Please note that I’ve never walked this route before, so there may be some planning errors.

Meeting Point

We will gather at 08:45 in front of Starbucks in Brussels Central. Our train (IC507 Eupen) departs from platform 3 at 09:01. We will arrive at Liège-Guillemins at 10:00 on platform 1 and transfer to train (L4981 Namur), leaving from platform 8 at 10:12. We will reach our destination, Amay, at 10:40 and begin our hike.

• Single ticket Brussels to Amay: €12.60 (weekend) / €7.50 (with train card)
• Single ticket Esneux to Brussels: €14.90 (weekend) / €9.00 (with train card)

Train to Brussels

Trains to Brussels depart every hour at XX:27 or XX:40 (L5589 Liers) from platform 1. They arrive in Liège-Guillemins at XX:48 or XX:55 on platform 5, where we will change to train (IC541 Oostende) on platform 3 at XX:59 or to train (IC2841 Knokke) on platform 4 at XX:26.
