Join us for an extraordinary hiking adventure to the breathtaking Chakhalaberd Fortress (also known as Bazaberd), located near the charming village of Jiliza in Northern Lori. During our journey, we will enjoy a scenic forest hike while soaking in the unique beauty of both Jiliza and Madan, with their picturesque landscapes. 🌳✨

🦌 Experience the pristine forests of Northern Lori, home to deer and diverse wildlife. We will visit the stunning, once-Greek village of Madan and hike through the wooded hills of Lalvari to reach the quaint village of Jiliza. Here, marvel at the ancient ruins of the Jiliza Church before we continue our hike towards the dynamic medieval fortress of Bazaberd, known for being one of the best-preserved and most impressive Armenian fortresses.

🚪 Since Jiliza is situated right on the Armenian-Georgian border, special permission is required for this trip, necessitating prior registration for this remarkable adventure.

👣 Total hiking distance: Approximately 4 km
🔖 It is recommended to wear appropriate hiking gear and footwear. A food court break will be included during the trip.
