Houston is building the literary festival it deserves.

Houston is one of the most diverse cities in the world — yet it still does not have a major citywide literary festival of its own.

Houston Text Fest is the beginning of changing that.

Presented by Nuestra Palabra: Latinos Having Their Say, this inaugural festival will bring together writers, readers, poets, educators, publishers, artists, vendors, and cultural organizations for a day of readings, panels, workshops, open mics, community conversations, and a curated literary marketplace.

For 28 years, Nuestra Palabra has amplified Latino literature, storytelling, and cultural dialogue in Houston and beyond. Houston Text Fest builds on that legacy while inviting the entire literary community to help shape something bigger: a future citywide book festival rooted in Houston’s voices.
