Inwood Canoe Club’s Sunday Open House

Join us for our Sunday Open House at the Inwood Canoe Club from May 25 to August 31, 2025! 🎉

Every Sunday (Memorial Day – Labor Day) with free, guided 20-minute kayak trips on the Hudson River, just north of the George Washington Bridge.

Schedule:

• Signup: Begins in-person at 9 a.m. for three guided "waves" on a first come, first served basis.
• Note: Open House will not be held on Sunday, July 13. Instead, it will take place on Saturday, July 12, for City of Water Day.

Wave Times:

• Wave 1: Arrive at 9:45 a.m., launch at 10 a.m.
• Wave 2: Arrive at 10:30 a.m., launch at 10:45 a.m.
• Wave 3: Arrive at 11:15 a.m., launch at 11:30 a.m.

Activities:

Kayak on one of our 12 SOTs (sit-on-tops) or in a tandem kayak (built for two). Paddle with family, friends, or new acquaintances in our “canoemaran.” Up to six guests + two ICC “Turtles” (members) will fit comfortably.

Additional Details:

All guests must be able to swim. 🏊‍♂️ Minimum age is 8. Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
We provide the boat, paddle, and PFD (personal flotation device/life vest). No prior paddling experience required. Wear clothes and shoes that can get wet.
Leave valuables at the boathouse or bring your own waterproof bag; ICC is not liable for lost items. No pets allowed at Open House.

Since starting in 2002, the club has provided the only walk-up kayaking program in Northern Manhattan, serving over 1,000 guests each summer. 🥳
