Iron & Wine

🎶 Iron & Wine, the solo project of multi-instrumentalist and producer Sam Beam, is set to release their eighth full-length album, Hen’s Teeth, on February 27th. This album serves as a sibling record to the acclaimed and Grammy-nominated Light Verse.

🌟 Hen’s Teeth was crafted during multiple sessions in the foothills of Los Angeles, with studio owner/engineer Dave Way (known for his work with Fiona Apple and Sheryl Crow) at the helm. The album features contributions from familiar names in the Iron & Wine universe, including David Garza, Sebastian Steinberg, Tyler Chester, Griffin Goldsmith, Beth Goodfellow, Kyle Crane, and Paul Cartwright.

🎤 The Grammy-winning Americana trio I’m With Her—Sarah Jarosz, Aiofe O’Donovan, and Sara Watkins—is featured on two tracks, bringing their harmonizing prowess to the ebullient track, “Robin’s Egg,” and the tender, mournful “Wait Up.”

👧 The album also marks the recording debut of Arden Beam, one of Sam Beam’s daughters, who contributes harmonies and backing vocals on several tracks, adding a personal touch to the album.

💡 The title Hen’s Teeth symbolizes something that shouldn’t exist, much like the creative process behind this record. As Beam states, “To me it suggests the impossible. Hen’s teeth do not exist. And that’s what this record felt like: a gift that shouldn’t be there but it is.”
