Always wanted to make jewelry but didn’t know where to start? Want to up your game but are afraid of the torch? This class is for you! 🔥 This workshop will demystify silver smithing and get you started on your jewelry-making journey.
Length: All Day
Students Will Learn:
- All about silver soldering, including flux, pickle, solders, torches, and the 5 Points of soldering.
- Solder a butt joint (yes, that’s what it’s called!) and a ‘T’ joint.
- How to pick a cabochon and set it, along with texturing and finishing techniques.
This class will remove the mystery of silver soldering and broaden your jewelry-making skills!
Kit Contents:
- 1” x 1½” – 26-gauge sterling silver sheet
- 6” – 16-gauge sterling silver square wire
- 6” - ?” fine silver bezel wire
- 1 – jump ring 18 gauge
Kit Price: $55
All tools and equipment will be supplied. Students are encouraged to bring any tools they have. The instructor will have cabochons for sale at class time.
Student Must Supply: Their own cabochon (Jeff will have some for sale, and we have some available in the shop).
