John Calloway presents "The Afro Filipino Project 'New Voices'"

🌍 Join us for an inspiring evening with The Afro Filipino Project: 'New Voices', showcasing the talent of four dynamic Afro Filipinx artists. Under the guidance of music and artistic director John Calloway, the featured artists Ting Alvarez, Umali Horne, Jasmine Miller, and Jojo Thompson will delve into their identities and how these journeys manifest in their artistic expressions.

🎶 The ensemble will also pay tribute to legacy Afro Filipino artists and celebrate enduring themes in their performance.

📅 This event is part of a larger initiative launched in 2022, aimed at creating an interactive space for Afro Filipino, African American, and Filipino American artists to share and explore diverse art practices that reflect our communal histories and self-expression. Previous events have included 'Buffalo Soldiers in the Philippines: A Crisis of Conscience' and collaborations with the Golden Gate Symphony.
