Joshua Redman, a prominent figure in the jazz world for over thirty years, has recently launched his debut album, Where Are We, under the prestigious Blue Note Records label. This album, created during the pandemic, marks Redman's first venture into writing lyrics and collaborating with a vocalist.

Through the lens of geographic exploration, Redman and his ensemble invite us to critically examine our surroundings. He reflects on the unique beauty of shared spaces and the emotional toll of division.

Originally on a path to law, Redman shifted gears to immerse himself in the vibrant New York jazz scene, winning the Thelonious Monk International Saxophone Competition shortly after. His collaborations with jazz legends and the formation of influential bands have solidified his status in the music industry.

With nearly two dozen albums to his name, Redman has also contributed to film music and educational programs, showcasing his versatility and commitment to jazz.
