Our adventure leads to the iconic Karlštejn Castle, established in 1348 by Charles IV. This magnificent Gothic fortress towers over the Berounka River valley and once safeguarded royal treasures, such as imperial coronation jewels and sacred relics. Standing beneath its towering walls feels like stepping back into medieval Europe.

We’ll explore the charming village of Svatý Jan pod Skalou, nestled beneath a dramatic limestone cliff. This tranquil site is home to a historic monastery and the legendary Cave of Saint Ivan. For those up for a challenge, a short hike above the village offers spectacular panoramic views of the Bohemian Karst.

Our journey also includes a visit to the mesmerizing Velká Amerika, often referred to as the “Czech Grand Canyon.” With its soaring cliffs and vivid turquoise waters, this former limestone quarry is one of the most photogenic spots in the country—perfect for a scenic pause during our hike.
