This summer, three of Sweden’s leading baroque singers will grace the stage at Confidencen, presenting Francesca Caccini’s landmark opera La liberazione di Ruggiero dall’isola d’Alcina (1625).

The opera unfolds in a magical world filled with sea monsters, sirens, nymphs, and demons. The spectacular finale features a specially composed equestrian ballet for 24 riders, a thrilling challenge for director Jacopo Spirei, musical director Peter Spissky, and set and costume designer Bente Rolandsdotter.

Confidencen, built in the 1670s as a royal riding house, provides a unique and historically resonant setting for this baroque spectacle.
