Welcome to the Lack of Words Writing Club! 🌟

Created and run by clbhuis partner Tyler alongside community member Juul, each month kicks off with an inspiring prompt. Participants are invited to craft up to 1,000 words in any genre and style. After writing, we gather to read our pieces aloud and provide constructive feedback. From whimsical mushroom adventures to heartfelt family sagas, our cozy gatherings transform friendly faces into cherished friends. 🥨🍷

This Month's Special Collaboration

This edition features a delightful partnership with Rebel Wines! 🍇 The team will curate a selection of red and white wines to perfectly complement our monthly theme.

June Prompt: Velvet Antlers

This month, we explore the theme Velvet Antlers. Just as antlers grow, they are initially coated in a gentle, living velvet, rich with blood vessels and nerves, nurturing the underlying bones. Once fully developed, the velvet flakes away, leaving the hard antlers behind. Reflect on the concept of softness before it solidifies. Whether it's an essay, poem, or a fictional or non-fictional piece — all forms are welcome! 📖💭

How to Participate

• RSVP to ensure your spot!
• Submit your writing piece (maximum 1,000 words) by June 23 to tyler.clbhuis@gmail.com.

Event Schedule:

• 19:00 – Arrival. Snacks and drinks provided.
• 19:10 – We gather at the table. Printed copies of the texts will be distributed (no laptops allowed).
• 19:15 – Quick introductions.
• 19:25 – Reading begins.
• 19:30 – Each participant shares their work.

After each reading, we'll engage in a thoughtful discussion:

• What does the piece mean to you?
• Where are its strongest aspects?
• How could it be improved?

The writer will have the chance to share their intentions and processes behind their work.

Refund Policy

Cancellations made more than a week in advance will receive a full refund (minus a €0.50 processing fee). Cancellations within one week will receive an event credit for future CLBHUIS events. Unfortunately, cancellations made within 24 hours of the event cannot be refunded or credited.
