Lunchbreak Concert: Jillian Bain Christie (soprano)
Join us for a captivating performance by Aberdeen-born soprano Jillian Bain Christie and her duo partner Ben. They will explore the uniquely beautiful sound worlds of the Nordic and Russian Art Song tradition, alongside works by 20th Century American composers. Expect pieces by Grieg, Sibelius, Rachmaninoff, and Samuel Barber.
About Jillian Bain Christie
Jillian is a Scottish soprano and visual artist, currently based in Norfolk. She graduated from the Glasgow School of Art and later studied Music at the University of Aberdeen, earning a 1st class Honours degree in 2012. During her time in Aberdeen, she received several awards in both performance and composition.
Jillian is dedicated to promoting contemporary classical music and frequently gives first performances of works by living composers. She has collaborated with internationally renowned composer Paul Mealor LVO, premiering many of his compositions, including the soprano solos in his Symphony No.1 ‘Passiontide’ and Song of the Ocean with Michael Collins and the Philharmonia Orchestra.
