About the Musical:
Inspired by Miguel de Cervantes’ 17th-century masterpiece Don Quixote, this musical is set during the Spanish Inquisition. The original 1965 production won five Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
Cervantes, imprisoned and awaiting trial, and his fellow prisoners perform a play-within-a-play, narrating the tale of Alonso Quijana, who becomes “Don Quixote” on a quest to right the world's wrongs.
