Join us for an extraordinary concert featuring Mazaher, a group of talented musicians and singers from Cairo, weaving the age-old zār rituals into a mesmerizing and cathartic musical experience.

⭐ What to Expect:
Mazaher has been dedicated to preserving Egypt's zār traditions since the late 1990s. This ritual music, characterized by song, dance, and polyrhythmic drumming, aims to foster harmony among participants and liberate social bonds. Unique to zār, women prominently lead the rituals.

✨ Among Mazaher's members are the remarkable Um Sameh, Um Hassan, and Nour El Sabah, who are among the few still practicing this art form in Egypt. Don’t miss the chance to witness this enriching musical ritual firsthand!

🎵 The music presented is inspired by three distinct Egyptian zār styles and incorporates sacred instruments like the six-stringed tamboura and percussion instruments such as the mangour. With performances across Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East, Mazaher captivates audiences with the healing and reconciliatory effects of zār music.
