Mezipatra: Queer Generation: Behind the Camera and on the Screen

An open conversation about the current state of queer audiovisual production, representation, the courage to speak in one's authentic voice, and the new generation of filmmakers is emerging in our region. What are the specific characteristics of queer film and TV production in the Czech Republic and Slovakia? What kinds of stories do emerging filmmakers wish to tell? Which obstacles do they face in the film industry? And why is it important that the queer experience has its place both on screen and behind the camera? The discussion organised in collaboration with the OUTPITCH platform will feature director and screenwriter Gregor Valentovič, TV screenwriter Vendula Hlásková, and Nataša Jurčová Findrová, a film producer, activist, and active member of the Open Society Foundation and the Inakosť Initiative in Slovakia.
