MIB Talk: Ako kultivujeme naše mestá
Banners on buildings, advertisements in storefronts, chaotic infrastructure, and poorly designed streets. Research clearly shows that the built environment significantly affects people’s lives and health.
Visual pollution means stress.
Excessive noise means stress.
Chaotic urban transportation infrastructure means stress.
A well-designed city means a better, safer, and healthier life. That is why it makes sense to gradually transform public spaces, streets, and roads into safer, cleaner, more beautiful—and more refined—places.
Public space manuals and specific changes developed by the Bratislava Metropolitan Institute since its inception also contribute to this. In the Czech Republic, the organization Naše kultivovaná města is also dedicated to transforming streets. At the next MIB Talk at TU–BA, guests will discuss how cities can be improved both theoretically and practically:
Veronika Rút, founder of the organization Naše kultivovaná města, through which she helps cities across the Czech Republic establish rules for advertising in public spaces.
Oto Nováček, Public Space Concepts Manager at the Metropolitan Institute of Bratislava, who creates manuals and concrete solutions for better public spaces.
Miroslav Mojžiš, Acting Head of the Strategic Project Management Department of the Staré Mesto City District.
Dušan Ševela, Head of Design Development at ALTO Real Estate, where he leads the department responsible for urban planning, architecture, and project design.
