Monster Hunt
Join us for a fun-filled day of art exploration in downtown Manchester! 🌆
Find Art & Make Art!
Discover handmade art hidden throughout the city, culminating in a creative session where you can make your own masterpiece!
Why Participate?
Studio 550 aims to spread joy by encouraging people to walk the streets and seek out the unexpected.
Monster Medallions:
We’re hiding reusable Monster Medallions instead of actual monsters! 🐉 Bring your medallion to Studio 550 at 550 Elm St between 11 AM - 1 PM to trade it for a unique monster. Remember, each finder can keep only one monster to share the joy!
Kids-Only Hunt:
A special mini-hunt for children aged 5 and under will take place at 10:30 AM in the green space in front of the DoubleTree Hotel at 700 Elm St. Look for colorful pennant flags! 🎉 There will be 25 monsters available, and every participant will receive a free monster sticker!
Kick-off Meeting:
The public hunt kicks off after a meeting at 10:50 AM at City Hall Plaza, where you’ll receive rules, tips, and free prizes before the hunt starts at 11 AM! The hunt will continue until all monsters are found, so be ready!
Activities:
From 11 AM - 1 PM, Studio 550 will host various low-cost or free hands-on activities:
- Make your own clay monster
- Try the pottery wheel
- Create a plant habitat for your new friend
- Tie-dye a Studio 550 T-shirt or tote bag
- Enjoy bubble painting with instructor Mattea Schevey
- Sidewalk chalk, monster paper crafting, and rock painting!
Sweet Treats:
To make the day even sweeter, downtown businesses will offer specials for those who find a monster! 🍰 The Manchester City Library BookMobile will be at City Hall Plaza (no monster required!), and Queen City Cupcakes will have monster-themed cupcakes for monster finders!
No purchase is necessary, but we encourage all Monster-Seekers and Finders to explore downtown and enjoy what our city has to offer!
