Neighbors/Plastic
š Neighbors/Plastic is the ninth site-specific dance collaboration by Regina Nejman and Despina Sophia Stamos!
Using large, yellow, transparent plastic as both costume and set, this captivating performance delves into the commodification of the female body and the entrapment within consumer culture. Through a tactile dialogue with the plastic, the dancers explore themes of distance and closeness, reflecting their real-life connection as neighbors.
š¶ With live music by Julian Rozzell Jr., this piece creates striking visuals that highlight the suffocating ideals of youth and desirability imposed on women's bodies. Moreover, it highlights the alarming issues of oceanic pollution and the seductive allure of consumer products!
