Nika

**NIKA is a singer-songwriter and composer who blends elements of jazz, pop, folk, and alternative music in her work. A graduate of the Janáček Conservatory in composition, she made her debut in the spring of 2022 with the album Flesh & Soul, which attracted attention for its rawness and emotional depth. Her lyrics reflect personal relationships, the artificiality of the modern world, the illusion of perfection, and themes of manipulation, hypocrisy, and psychological and physical violence.

For the album Flesh & Soul, she won the Moravian-Silesian Art Award Jantar in the popular music category, became the winner of the Junior category in the JazzFruit competition, and performed at prestigious festivals such as Colours of Ostrava, Smetana's Litomyšl, Prague Sounds, and the Czech Music Crossroads showcase festival, as well as at the Paris-Prague jazz club in Paris.

In March 2025, she released her second album, Elsewhere, which combines mature songwriting with bold musical experimentation. In a distinctive fusion of jazz, pop, funk, folk, and alternative, it opens up an intimate world full of introspection and social criticism. Elsewhere, shortlisted for the 2025 Anděl Awards, consists of eleven songs, each of which brings an emotional snapshot or a deep inner dilemma resonating with the uncertainty of today's world.

NIKA presents herself as an authentic and open author who uninhibitedly reveals topics hidden beneath the surface – feelings of alienation, inner struggles, the search for self-worth, and reconciliation after the storm. Melancholy alternates with anger, disappointment intertwines with hope, and the whole thing comes across as a powerful catharsis.

NIKA has been involved in music since childhood – she started playing the piano at the age of four and wrote her first compositions at the age of six. Her work is inspired by rock, jazz syntheses, and classical music. She is accompanied on stage by drummer Jonáš Bjolek, pianist Pavel Duda, and bassist Nicolas Gatto.
