Ohne was born out of a need to preserve, consolidate, and extend the Berlin club scene. Through a curation of local artists and collectives, we aim to offer a Sunday music service. Diverse artistic expressions: installations, music, and performances from local collectives and artists. The secrecy of the artist's curation protects artistic freedom.

In recent years, the cost of clubbing has risen significantly, making club culture an economically selective environment where access and participation depend primarily on financial means.

In order to maintain themselves, venues are forced to focus their resources on a few well-known and expensive bookings to secure ticket sales and visibility. To cover their investments, ticket prices increase while bar sales decrease.

As venues generate less revenue from the bar - on which they depend - they invest less, and the quality of service, infrastructure, and programming suffers.

The result is a decline in service quality alongside an unjustified increase in the cost of the club experience.

This dynamic reflects a broader process of cultural gentrification: rising costs reshape the audience, shift priorities toward profitability and branding, and alter the identity of the club itself, making club culture an exclusive environment.

OHNE intends to counter the gentrification of club culture by presenting a secret line-up and donation-based Sunday afterparty as an alternative to the dominant trends in contemporary clubbing. Financial contributions are voluntary and based on each participant’s individual economic capacity.
