Outdoor Painting Session: Darwin’s Theory

Join us for a unique plein air class where art, history, and the outdoors converge! 🌳 Inspired by one of Anchorage’s classic neighborhood bars, Darwin’s Theory, this session will delve into the city’s rich history of bars and breweries, reflecting community, change, and culture.

Participants will explore stories with Anchorage Museum educators before local artist Don Kolstad guides you in sketching and painting a scene inspired by the venue.

About the Artist:
Don Kolstad, born in Southern California in 1952, moved to Alaska in 1982 to pursue art full-time, inspired by the region’s beauty. He has taught various art classes and workshops, alongside his studio and plein air painting work.
