Pain Management returns to OHM for a midsummer gathering centred on the outer reaches of dub and sound system music.

Joining us are John T. Gast, NAP, Trailcam, and Eleftheria alongside Significant Other, each approaching low-frequency music from distinct angles while sharing a common attraction to pressure, space, and dissolution.

For over a decade, John T. Gast has occupied a singular position within contemporary UK underground music. Through the 5 Gate Temple label and an ever-shifting body of work, his productions have traced pathways through steppers, industrial dub, noise, and abstraction. Ever-active at the margins of system music, his work has consistently avoided both classification and commercialization, shapeshifting its way through the outer fringes of sound system music. His sets run heavy and distorted, sub frequencies pushed well past the point of comfort. South London crud at peak hours.

From Mexico City, NAP brings a sound shaped by rhythmic repetition and dubbed-out mutation. From tekky, loop driven floor-fillers through slo-mo cumbia distortions, he’s another figure operating within the low frequencies. Across releases on Isla and a broad network of collaborations, his work drifts between hypnotic club structures, displaced percussion and slo-mo reconstruction. Music concerned less with fixed identities than with creating environments.

Toronto's Trailcam arrives fresh from a debut on Northern Electronics. Years of deconstructed club music as E-Sagilla have given way to something slower and more elusive; trip hop adjacencies, dub techno murk, illbient residue. Loop Finding Jazz texture meets Sub Dub swagger. The kind of music that takes its time.

Closing the night, Eleftheria and Significant Other guide proceedings into the early hours. Longtime collaborators with a shared affinity for steppers, dub and gritty system music, they take up the final stretch with the kind of music you want to hear at sunrise.
