Paper Clay on Terra Cotta Pots (2 days)
About the event
Join us for a creative workshop where you'll explore the geometry of the human form by sculpting abstract, Cubist-inspired faces onto terra cotta pots!
In this hands-on experience, you'll:
- Move away from traditional realism to experiment with fragmented planes and multiple viewpoints.
- Use paper clay to create bold, interlocking shapes.
- Deconstruct facial features into striking 3D geometric reliefs that wrap around your planter.
- Learn to layer and carve clay for sharp edges and dramatic shadows.
- Finish your piece with stains or paints that highlight its architectural depth.
No prior experience is required—just bring your curiosity!
Note: This class takes place over two sessions to allow for drying and finishing. The date for the second session will be decided together during our first meeting.
