Himmelman believes that writing, recording, and releasing new music is essential to life. His latest album, Press On, showcases his fervent vocals and guitar, capturing the immediacy of his new songs. The recording process took just under four days, but the songwriting journey began over three years ago.

Himmelman describes songwriting as a process of self-discovery, stating, "There are technical tricks one needs to master. But for me, the real work lies in transcending the mechanics of songwriting, and inhabiting that space beyond the rational mind."

The music on Press On is emotionally and musically varied, featuring R&B-flavored piano ballads and vibrant New Orleans funk. His influences, including Howlin’ Wolf and John Lee Hooker, shine through in his steely Telecaster riffs.

As noted by American Songwriter, "Press On is tellingly titled and deeply considered, a further example of Himmelman’s ability to go below the surface of any circumstance and find wisdom, revelation, and empowerment in the process."
