Led by Dr. Kerri Barile Tambs, Principal Investigator with Mead & Hunt, this presentation will cover the recently completed archaeological study of the church property. The research, part of the ongoing Open to All in Love construction and accessibility project, has uncovered significant insights into nearly 300 years of Fredericksburg history.

Key Findings Include:

• Discovery of remains from St. George’s second church, built in 1815
• Evidence of changes in the church grounds and graveyard over time
• Thousands of artifacts, including colonial-era ceramics and Civil War-era items
