The Purcell School Symphony Orchestra is back, showcasing a captivating program rooted in the romantic tunes and lush orchestrations inspired by the films of the 1940s. This year’s Purcell School Concerto Competition winner, Julia Majewska, is a young violinist of immense talent who will dazzle you with her performance of the magnificent Korngold Violin Concerto.
✨ Experience the rich history of film music with selections that influenced iconic composers like John Williams for E.T. and Doreen Carwithen’s pioneering works in Hollywood. Completing the program, we will hear Walton’s stunning orchestral piece from The First of the Few.
