In 1950s Mexico City, William Lee, an American ex-pat in his late forties, leads a solitary life amidst a small American community. However, the arrival of Eugene Allerton, a young student, stirs William into finally establishing a meaningful connection with someone.

The cult American writer, spiritual father of the beat generation, founder of cyberpunk, and passionate literary experimenter William S. Burroughs wrote the highly autobiographical novel Queer in the early 1950s. In it, he provides a poignant, introspective, and unflinching account of the mental states and feelings of a drug addict and gay man, vainly yearning for the fulfillment of his love.

This controversial and courageously honest novel, which was only published in the 1980s, is brought to the screen by Luca Guadagnino, director of fan-favorite films like Call Me By Your Name and Challengers. Daniel Craig delivers a stunning performance in the demanding lead role of Burroughs's troubled alter ego, currently receiving prestigious awards nominations on both sides of the Atlantic.
