Queer Fusion Dance - August

Join us for a Fusion Dance fundraiser dedicated to queer folks and enthusiastic allies! Welcoming new dancers, old friends, and all Beach Bums alike. 😎🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

🕒 Schedule:

• Community Mingling: 7:30 PM
• Beginners Lesson: 7:45 PM
• Dancing: 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM

💵 Suggested Donation: $15-20
Sign up for an hour door shift and get in free here.
No one will be turned away for lack of funds!

👗 Dress Code:
Beach bum or Hot Summer themed outfits encouraged! Wear whatever makes you feel comfy and confident! 🏝️🐚☀️

🕺 About the Beginner's Class:
A welcome session to fusion dancing focusing on the basics of partner dancing, musical connection, partner communication, and consent. Learn how to ask someone to dance, accept and decline gracefully, and get out on the dance floor.

🌟 Fusion Dance:
A partner dance style that combines elements from various genres to create unique, collaborative movement. It’s less about "getting the steps right" and more about exploring connections.

🚫 Important Note:
This is a queer-centered event. If you are not queer or an enthusiastic ally, please stay home. We will not tolerate bigotry of any kind. This event is for queers to feel irrevocably confident about being who they are and to feel safe learning how to partner dance.

🎉 Hosted by: Asheville Phoenix Fire, a local LGBT+ nonprofit raising money for queer-centered sober events and a community space down the road.
