Sardine Workshop

Sardine Class Overview:

Join us for a fun, beginner-friendly workshop where you’ll create a playful sardine pillow using a pattern from Woolly Petals! 🎨 This class is perfect for those comfortable with straight seams who are ready to tackle new skills.

You’ll learn the basics of piecing and sewing gentle curves as we guide you step-by-step through the process. From cutting and layout to stitching smooth curves, you'll gain the confidence to handle curved piecing effectively.

When the class wraps up, you’ll walk away with a finished (or nearly finished) pillow and a solid introduction to curved sewing, all while enjoying a lighthearted project!

🛠️ Sardine Workshop Supply List:

• Sardine Pattern by Woolly Petals (PDF available for download from Woolly Petals Etsy Shop)
• Quilting Cotton:
  • Back of Sardine: 1/4 yd
  • Front of Sardine: 1/2 yd or 2 - 1⁄4 yds
  • Head: 10”w x 8”t
  • Top Fin: 10”w x 3”t
  • Flipper: 10”w x 6”t
  • Eyes: White and black felt
• Stuffing: A small bag of polyester fiberfill (12 oz)
• Thread: Polyester thread to match the body, plus black and white for the eyes
• Sewing Machine: In good working order (bring your power cord, foot pedal, bobbin, presser foot)
• Needle: 80/12 sewing machine needle
• Notions:
  • Seam ripper
  • Fabric marking tool
  • Fabric scissors
  • Fabric snips
  • Hand sewing needle
