June — Community and Collective Identity
Join us for Saturday Scribe, a weekly creative writing gathering designed for writers seeking dedicated time to enhance their craft while working in a supportive community. Writers of all levels—whether your focus is film, poetry, prose, theater, or hybrid genres—are warmly welcomed!
In June, we’ll delve into themes of community and collective identity. Stories don't just occur in isolation; they develop within our churches, coffee shops, neighborhoods, family reunions, classrooms, and front porches. Every narrative is influenced by the people we connect with, the traditions we inherit, and the future we envision together.
Throughout this month, we’ll explore ideas of belonging, community, inheritance, and shared responsibility through insightful scene-based prompts tailored for film, fiction, poetry, theater, and beyond.
This month's prompts include:
- The Gathering Place
- The Newcomer
- The Future We Built (Juneteenth Week)
- The Work We Carry Together
We’re thrilled to convene at Heirloom, a space that resonates with our belief in the power of intentional gathering. It’s an ideal location for connection, conversation, and community.
📸 Don't forget to follow @SaturdayScribe on Instagram to catch the weekly prompt before each session! You may choose to write on the prompt or work on an existing project—it's entirely up to you.
