Shut Up & Write!® in Amsterdam / Centre

Join us for an energizing hour of writing! 🖊️ Discover the power of writing alongside fellow writers at the 7th floor of the Central Library Amsterdam on Wednesday mornings.

Whether you're working on a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem, or just general tasks, you are welcome to write with us! 🤝 No one will read your work or offer unsolicited feedback. This is your chance to transition from thought to action and get real writing done!

🗓️ Event Overview:

• 10:30 AM: Quick introductions
• 10:45 AM: Timer starts – write for one hour! ⏱️
• 11:45 AM: The end – feel free to chat, leave, or continue writing 📖

Latecomers are welcome! If you arrive after the start, no worries! Just settle in and check in with our coordinator (look for the Shut Up & Write! sign). Please be accommodating to those who arrive late.

After the writing hour, there's opportunity for casual conversation about our journeys as writers. If time doesn't allow you to stay, that’s perfectly fine! 😊

📌 What to Bring:

• Your preferred writing tools!
• Earbuds/earplugs, if you prefer a quieter environment ☕️.
• Ensure your devices are fully charged, as charging facilities might not always be available.

📋 Important Notes:

• New to the library? Allow a few minutes for setting up the WiFi connection via the publicroam app. Instructions are available on each table.
• You are welcome to bring your own drinks, although outside food is not permitted.

💬 Note on Format:
We prioritize a supportive environment; thus, critiques and readings are not part of the event. This gathering is a safe space for writers at all levels to hone their craft without judgment.
