Formed in Leeds in 1980, The Sisters of Mercy drew inspiration from luminaries like Bowie, Slade and The Velvet Underground, with closest sonic bedfellows including The Stooges, Motörhead and Suicide. 1990's Vision Thing featured a harder, more metal-influenced sound while retaining their trademark drum machine and lyrical ambiguity. Despite not releasing an LP since Vision Thing, their popularity has only grown stronger. Recent live reviews have championed the show as the band's strongest in years, with Andrew Eldritch supported by stellar performances from Ben Christo, Kai and Doktor Avalanche.
