Soul Asylum (Acoustic) feat. Ivan Neville & Laurels String Quartet

Soul Asylum, a band with over forty years of history, continues to inspire with their unique blend of punk energy and rock power. Frontman Dave Pirner delivers songs that range from aggressive to heartfelt, driven by personal and fictional lyrics. Known for their formidable stage presence, the Minneapolis group features drummer Michael Bland, lead guitarist Ryan Smith, and bassist Jeremy Tappero.

Originally formed as Loud Fast Rules in the early 1980s, they quickly became part of the vibrant Minneapolis music scene alongside bands like The Replacements and Hüsker Dü. Their major-label debut came with the 1988 album Hang Time, followed by And the Horse They Rode In On, produced by Rolling Stones drummer Steve Jordan. The band achieved commercial success with their double-platinum album Grave Dancers Union, featuring the Grammy-winning hit “Runaway Train.”

In recent years, Soul Asylum has reissued expanded and remastered editions of their early albums, continuing to engage their fanbase.
