Immerse yourself in the power of music and the echoes of history in Stockholm’s Old Town! 🏰 The Nobel Prize Museum, Medieval Museum, and Storkyrkan invite you on a journey through time and sound.

During the summer evening event “Tunes in the Old Town,” history, knowledge, and music are woven together. A combined ticket gives you access to a guided tour, a walk, and a concert.

  Discover how Nobel Laureates, like poet Louise Glück, found inspiration in the music of composers such as Gustav Mahler. This guided tour offers insight into the background of the Nobel Prize and the vital role music plays in creativity.

• Medieval Museum: Time to Play! Music in Medieval Stockholm
  Explore the sounds of medieval Stockholm with instruments like bone flutes, jaw harps, and ocarinas. Learn how music brought comfort, joy, and storytelling to the townspeople, and its role in church rituals during the Medieval Museum’s walking tour.

• Stockholm Cathedral: Bach goes…
  Experience the timeless music of Johann Sebastian Bach reimagined by contemporary musicians on the church’s Marcussen organ from 1960. The concert series features Bach’s baroque tones alongside new interpretations in the awe-inspiring setting of Storkyrkan, over 700 years old.

Before the concert, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the church interior on your own — typically requiring a separate entrance ticket.
