This May, come explore the fascinating history of printing with a creative twist at the South Street Seaport Museum! 🌊 Your General Admission ticket grants access to the engaging family-friendly activity, Impressive Impressions, held indoors at 14 Fulton Street.

Get ready to dive into the art of woodblock printing! Inspired by the Maritime City exhibition, families will have the chance to craft their own illustrative “woodcuts” using styrofoam. 🎉 Unleash your imagination and bring your designs to life with traditional printing techniques! Choose from your own unique illustration or utilize the pre-made templates offered by the Museum.

Before the fun begins, be sure to explore both the Maritime City exhibition and Bowne & Co. Stationers. Here, you can admire historical printing equipment, including a real printing press! 📜

This fantastic activity is perfect for participants aged 5 and up and is available on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, running throughout May.

Enjoy More at the Museum! 🏛️

Monthly family activities are included in your General Admission from Friday to Sunday, between 11 AM and 5 PM. About Bowne & Co. 📚

Bowne & Co., established in 1775, is New York’s oldest operating business under the same name. After transitioning from a financial printer through the years, they partnered with the Seaport Museum in 1975 to open a vintage print shop at 211 Water Street. Today, it operates the Bowne & Co. Printing Office, continuing the tradition of small-batch printing with historic presses, alongside Bowne & Co. Stationers, a charming emporium offering gifts and fine goods. Visit Bowne & Co.
