Om evenemanget
🌍 Join us for an enlightening exhibition celebrating the works of Stanisław Dróżdż!
The term World-text encapsulates Dróżdż’s belief that reality is a text to be deciphered. This exhibition delves into three central themes that widely resonate in his art: language, time, and human existence.
🖼️ Highlights of the Exhibition:
- Site-Specific Works:
- One piece distills text and space into a world-dense experience, countering emptiness (the so-called Lines).
- Another work evokes the randomness of dice, juxtaposing chaotic throws with the order of existence (Alea iacta est).
✍️ About the Artist:
Stanisław Dróżdż (1939-2009) was a pioneering concrete poet and a key figure in the Polish avant-garde movement. A significant contributor to the 2003 Venice Biennale, his journey took him from traditional poetry to visually intriguing forms using letters, symbols, and mathematical algorithms. His innovative pieces, termed concept-shapes, offer a unique interplay of concrete poetry and visual art forms, re-enriching the tradition in Poland well into the late 20th century.
