Om evenemanget
Step back in time at this captivating exhibition that showcases a life-size recreation of a wooden, thatched house—an authentic representation of early town living. Inside this meticulously crafted dwelling, you'll find furniture, clay and wooden vessels, quern-stones, a butter churn, a potter's wheel, a loom, and a plethora of other items.
The exhibition also features an array of everyday tools such as ards, sickles, whetstones, firesteels, and chisels, alongside unique artefacts like jewellery (temple rings, finger rings, and necklaces), clothing, and footwear.
Delve deeper into the spiritual realm with displays of ritual items significant to the pagan inhabitants of early medieval Silesia, including insights into their cremation burial rites before the arrival of Christianity. As Christianity established its roots, the exhibition highlights the shift in burial customs, illustrating how this transition influenced various aspects of life—from brick architecture to the emerging art forms.
The exhibition dedicates a significant area to the early history of Wrocław, mapping out the initial settlements and showcasing artefacts that reflect the lives of its inhabitants through various spheres such as crafts, trade, religion, and more. Additionally, explore the reconstructed model of the Bardo castle and the artefacts uncovered during excavations, revealing the everyday life of a garrison in this small mountain fortress during the late Middle Ages.
Join us to uncover the rich history through weapons, tools, pottery, and more—an immersive experience awaits! 🌍✨
