Šťovík, pečené brambory

First public performance at the new Letní scéna — a reprise of the comedy 'Šťovík, pečené brambory' from the MDK repertoire.

The play follows three football professionals—linesmen Mejdlo and Básník, and referee Laci—who gather in the changing room before an important match. Each struggles with personal crises: Básník is tormented by unrequited love for Mariana, who once prepared him a stewed šťovík before matches; Mejdlo is frustrated that his career advancement has stalled and will stop at nothing to save his professional life; and Laci finds that his perfect knowledge of football history and rules offers no help in matters of the heart. Their internal dramas spill onto the pitch, transforming the match between two teams into a battle for love, power, and justice—where friendship ultimately prevails.
