Sunday Dixie: Big Band Pražského salonního orchestru
The Prague Salon Orchestra Big Band will perform at the Jazz Dock as part of the Sunday Dixie series.
The Prague Salon Orchestra Big Band plays with the usual line-up of 5 saxophones, 4 trumpets, 4 trombones and full rhythm section. Its main domain is concerts. The basis of the repertoire consists of swing and jazz compositions by world-famous musicians (G. Gershwin, D. Ellington, C. Basie, Q. Jones, etc.), as well as Czech composers in arrangements by Dave Wolpe, Sammy Nestic and other arrangers. Singers Richard Tesarik, Jan Smigmator, Petra Vlkova, Elin Spidlova and others often appear as guests at the concerts.
