SUNLIGHT IN THE LIVING CHAMBER OF DR. DENZEL NADIR [ANDREAS MANDAL FORTES / META.MORF 2026]
In collaboration with Meta.Morf 2026, OMNIBUS invites you to a unique in-house production that imagines a future shaped by the absence of natural sunlight. This immersive installation transports visitors to a researcher’s studio apartment, centered around a vacated kitchen where sunlight is filtered through partially drawn curtains.
On the dining table, you'll find scattered notes and books, with walls adorned by charts depicting the movement of an unidentified orbital object. A monitor shows coverage of the first subterranean skyscrapers, hinting at a time when the Earth's surface is no longer habitable.
The essence of the installation is the ephemeral sunlight that casts parallel shadows through the kitchen window, aided by a powerful LED and parabolic dish, creating a uniquely imagined light experience. This setup allows shadows to mimic those of actual sunlight, regardless of distance, transporting guests to an alternate reality.
The exhibit is designed to replicate the atmosphere of a museum or experience center located within an underground bunker, enabling the audience to relive the experience of sunlight from the early 2000s. Featured documents detail a global transition to underground living due to a cosmic event affecting humanity's survival.
SUNLIGHT IN THE LIVING CHAMBER OF DR. DENZEL NADIR is envisioned and produced by Andreas Mandal Fortes, curated by Aage A. Mikalsen, with special thanks to Joel Hynsjö and Vitor Heitor Cardoso Cunha for their invaluable assistance.
