Tanec v galerii – Kristián MENSA: Na cestě ke svobodě těla

Mr. Kriss’s dance workshop in the gardens of Troja Castle with live music. Discover freedom and lightness of movement, your own rhythm, endless improvisation, and the joy of sharing the moment with others. After the workshop, you can immediately join a site-specific performance in the Troja labyrinth, where we’ll unveil Stanislav Zábrodský’s sculpture together through dance.

The workshop is part of the project “Dance in the Gallery: Labyrinth – A Choreographic-Sculptural Triptych,” taking place during the Riviéra Festival in co-production with SE.S.TA, GHMP, and Radio Wave.

Kristián “Mr. Kriss” Mensa is a dancer and visual artist based in Prague, known for blending breaking with experimental and contemporary movement styles. With more than fifteen years of experience, he has performed with artists such as Kylie Minogue and Hania Rani, taught around the world, and collaborated with organizations like WWF, Greenpeace, and the Adidas Originals brand. His multidisciplinary work encompasses dance, illustration, and animation, naturally blending elegance, creativity, and visual poetry. He is the subject of the documentary film Mr. Kriss (2021) directed by Adolf Zika, was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, and received the Silver Medal from the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic for his youthful determination and inspiration.

You’ll find “Dance in the Gallery” in the Troja Labyrinth. Hana Polanská, Viktor Černický, and Kristián Mensa are now embarking on a creative process with sculptors Stanislav Zábrodský, Jakub Choma, and Tomáš Roubal, as well as the curatorial team of the Prague City Gallery. The result will be a new performative work at the intersection of dance and visual art, created specifically for the Baroque garden at Troja Castle.

“Dance in the Gallery” is organized by the SE.S.TA Center for Choreographic Development in co-production with the Prague City Gallery, Art for the City, and Radio Wave.
