Join us at the CMA for a literary evening featuring Columbia author Cathy Rigg and her book, That Which Binds Us, a finalist for the 2025 Forward Indies Book of the Year in historical fiction.

About the Author:
Cathy Rigg, born and raised in the Appalachian Mountains of southwest Virginia, founded the brand marketing firm Riggs Partners after attending Clemson University. Her debut novel, That Which Binds Us (Keylight Books), was published in 2025 and has received notable recognition. Rigg’s work has appeared in various journals and anthologies. She and her husband, Tim Monetti, split their time between Columbia and Burnsville, North Carolina.

About the Book:
Set in 1854, That Which Binds Us follows Elizabeth Young, who witnesses her uncle's hanging for murder. Determined to uncover the truth, she finds her life intertwined with three strangers as the Civil War looms. This novel explores themes of lineage, loyalty, and the power of love across cultures and generations.
