The Conflict Lab

The Conflict Lab

About the event

🌍 The entire world runs on tension. In physics, nothing works without it. It keeps bridges standing and makes guitar strings sing. Yet, when it comes to human relationships, we often avoid the discomfort that conflict brings, using phrases like "keeping the peace."

But challenges don’t disappear just because we ignore them. They transform and create more problems, leading to issues like ghosting culture, echo chambers, and polarization. This affects our relationships, causing fractures instead of deepening connections. Ultimately, it puts Democracy at risk—not due to disagreement, but because we lack the skills to disagree constructively.

Conflict is one of the greatest acts of hope we can offer each other. It signifies that: 1) I care enough. 2) I believe you care enough. 3) I trust you can handle this challenging situation.

The issue isn’t conflict itself; it’s that many of our experiences have been negative, and we weren’t taught how to navigate them effectively. We need to learn how to disagree without defensiveness, how to repair after hurt, and when healthy conflict isn’t possible.

The Conflict Lab is a space to develop these essential skills. 🛠️
