Step into the literary world of Professor Mieczysław Porębski at the MOCAK Museum of Contemporary Art in Krakow!

In a cozy side building adjacent to the reading room, the Mieczysław Porębski Library showcases a remarkable collection of around four thousand volumes. This donation reflects the lifelong passions of Professor Porębski, an esteemed humanist and author of the Iconosphere.

The library houses not only numerous literary works, but also treasures from the Professor's travels, including museum guides, exhibition catalogues, and notes from galleries across France, Spain, Italy, Germany, and Russia. Each item serves as a testament to a life enriched by knowledge and exploration.

Designed to resemble the intimate environment of the Professor's own study in Krakow, the library features meticulous arrangements by his son, Professor Jerzy Porębski. Visitors will encounter stunning artwork from the Krakow Group, showcasing friends of the Professor like Jerzy Nowosielski and Tadeusz Kantor, among others.

Art historians and enthusiasts can delve into a comprehensive selection of Professor Porębski's publications that spans various platforms, including books and scholarly texts.
