Since their formation in 1978, The Obsessed has made a significant impact on the doom metal and underground hard rock scenes. With the distinctive vocals and guitar prowess of founder Scott “Wino” Weinrich, they have inspired countless musicians and fans alike.

The band gained traction in the Baltimore/DC area during the hardcore punk movement of the 1980s, earning respect from contemporaries like Black Flag and Minor Threat. Often referred to as “America’s Motorhead,” their influence is undeniable.

After a hiatus, Wino reunited The Obsessed in 2016, and they have been rocking stages worldwide ever since. Their latest album, Gilded Sorrow, is set to release in early 2024, promising to blend their classic sound with fresh elements.
