Brent Kirby’s music is often described as "Main Character" music, reflecting personal emotions and collective perspectives. His performances invite listeners to become catalysts in the songs, with universal lyrics that resonate on both specific and deeply layered levels.

With a soulful voice that is unique and soothing, Brent's music is colored by experience. In 2022, he was honored as “Best Folk” by the Cleveland Music Awards and nominated for “Best Songwriter” by the Cleveland Scene.

Brent has a rich history of accolades, including being voted “Best Singer” and “Best Male Vocal” in 2013, and “Best Musician” in 2012. Beyond his solo work, he fronts the Jack Fords, leads the monthly revival of Gram Parsons with The New Soft Shoe, and plays drums for various bands.

His 10 x 3 Songwriter showcase at the Bop Stop has fostered a vibrant original music scene. Brent has shared the stage with notable artists such as Squeeze, Edwin McCain, and the Blind Boys of Alabama, among many others.
